We will be filming for a second time at the Iwade Rock Music Festival on July 21st 2018!
Iwade Rock is a Charity event raising money for local charities and beneficiaries in the Swale area. There is a great line-up of local bands and all the usual things you would expect from an awesome Music Festival.
We made a video to announce the line-up and help promote the event.
Last time the festival was on in 2016 and we were asked to film the event, this is what we said about the festival at the time:
So if you want a ticket, get online and get some:
Here is the video we made in 2016 for more info and what to expect at IWADE ROCK 2018 !!
We were incredibly lucky filming at a wedding in February because in the midst of the ‘Beast from the East’ snowmageddon we had glorious sunshine for one day only, and especially for Jamie & Jo!
Obviously WE organised the sunshine for their big day, another great service from OYFE Productions!
We met Jo first of all at the amazing Intercontinental Hotel near the O2 before moving on off into the city to meet Jamie for a glorious wedding beside the iconic River Thames.
For Jamie and Jo we produced our classic wedding highlights video which you can see below, a fully edited film of the build up to the ceremony, the ceremony itself and the aftermath. In the evening with all their guests we also produced a Video Guestbook, our unique service where we talk to the assembled guests and capture the spirit and emotion of the day.
It was a marvellous, sunny London day and it all went very well with cocktails, dancing and shenanigans going on into the night.
Jo and Jamie were delighted with what we produced for them as their Facebook review will show you:
We wish Jo & Jamie all the very best wishes for the future!
If you would like OYFE Productions to film your big day, we still have some dates left in 2018 and loads for 2019, so get in touch so we can meet up and get you booked in.
It has come to our attention recently about a number of engaged couples who have been let down or all out scammed by their wedding videographer or photographer.
The stories vary, but its the same old thing over and over:
“We paid them a deposit and then never heard from them ever again.”
We find this quite annoying as it puts the Wedding Videography industry that we are part of, in a terrible light and I personally would hate to be in the same society as the people who do these horrible scams.
So to keep yourself safe and ensure that you don’t fall foul for these scams, here is OYFE Productions 5 point checklist to consider.
Number 1 – Check out their work THOROUGHLY!
Before engaging a wedding videographer or photographer take a good, hard look at their work – is it done well, does it match up with your style and the kinds of things that you like?
For videography, look at a wide selection of their videos, are they consistent, do they have a similar feel and vibe to them? For bonus points check their logos and any info they put at the end or start of their videos, do these logos match the company logo that they work for?
Number 2 – Check out their social media!
If you’ve found someone who seems AWESOME and you want them to shoot your wedding, it pays to have a poke around at their social media. Are their videos consistent across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram?
Have a deeper look, how long have they been posting/tweeting for? Anything less than 6 months or a year should be a warning sign!
Have a look at their reviews and any testimonials they have shared, are they unique?
Do the names match up with videos they have shared, do they seem legitimate?
Number 3 – Book in a meeting
I know that we live in an immediate world and we can get stuff instantly, the scammers will always prey on the people who can’t wait. So before handing over a penny to anyone, meet up with them first, either in person or on Skype so you can see who is potentially filming your wedding. When you do meet them, challenge everything and ask them questions, maybe ask them further details on their videos that you have seen – you will soon tell if they are legit.
At OYFE Productions we always meet up with clients before their wedding to discuss all the plans, and if distance is a problem, we always get our people to Skype us or use Facetime for an ‘in-person’ chat.
Scammers do not want you to see their face.
It is also an idea to randomly give them a call and ask about their wedding services, if there is no answer or response then you know who you are dealing with.
Number 4 – Check contact details
Always find out who is involved with a company or business that you engage for your wedding videography and keep a note of name, address and contact numbers, emails etc of who you spoke with when you booked.
There is no point trusting Facebook to remember everything for you, Facebook pages can be deleted in a flash leaving you with no recourse to contact a scammer who has done a runner with your hard earned cash.
Number 5 – See a contract or terms of service document
To have a leg to stand on in a court situation, if you have a contract that a company has failed to deliver on then you can seek compensation.
Before paying a deposit, see a contract. A good company will send you a videography contract that has been signed and details everything that they are going to do for you and how much and all the other (rather boring) terms of service.
Get a contract, read it carefully before signing and keep copies. No contract, no booking.
BONUS Number 6 – The best way to avoid scams
We hope that you find this article useful and we can’t help but point out that you can save yourself a whole load of hassle by simply getting in touch with Adam from OYFE Productions. He will book you in professionally, take care of you, give you a wedding videography contract, deliver all the things you ask for and you will get awesome wedding videography into the bargain!
Be safe out there and you know where to find us if you need us!
We filmed our first 2018 wedding last weekend for Joanne and Jamie on a beautiful sunny day by the Thames in London.
At the wedding we met up with Dave and Kelly, whose wedding we filmed in 2014 – they just happened to be friends with the bride and groom we were filming. It was great to catch up and see how we have all changed and how their children have become VERY tall and grown up!
It was awesome to chat and hear how much they loved having their wedding video produced by us, it seemed like a lifetime ago and Kelly told me how it was the greatest thing they could have done on the day. She explained that when she received her wedding photos she looked through them and has since put them in a drawer. When it comes to their OYFE wedding video, however, this gets a regular airing and I asked, ‘what, on each Anniversary?’ and she replied; ‘no, a lot more often than that!’.
I truly love the feel I get when we provide our clients with an opportunity to go back and re-visit their wedding day, for some, the biggest and most spectacular day of their lives.
It really is an honour to put our heart and souls into doing a great job for them so we can give such a beautiful gift that they enjoy over the years and treasure forever.
It was wonderful to hear how much they enjoyed watching their wedding video and super cool to meet up with them all again.
I think back to how hard it was to get going in this business, how we captured clients and wowed them and I can honestly say, from the feedback we get we kind of know we have got the hang of it now, and I guess the videos speak for themselves.
So now with over six years experience producing magical, emotive and moving videos, it’s your chance to get in on the action. Dave and I will be delighted to capture your big day and hand you something magnificent that you can play any time you like to be instantaneously whisked back to all the feeling and emotion of your magical big day.
Try doing that with a photo.
If you are looking for a great video team to film your wedding in 2018, get in touch and grab your date, we are booking up!
The brief was simple and stylish, and the focus was on the vocal quality. We shot scenes in a local smashed out building in Kent and used the space to emphasise the sadness behind the story being sung.
Katie is a bright young talent with an amazing voice, have a watch of her in action:
If you would like us to produce a music video for you, get in touch via our contact page or hit us up on Facebook.
We are currently booking up dates for our wedding videography packages.
How we roll…
Everyone who engages OYFE Productions to film their wedding gets a Wedding Highlights video. These are chronological short videos that show elements from your entire day and they are made in our in-house style with all the key elements of your day included. We would urge anyone who is looking for smart, stylish, meaningful and cool wedding videos to take a look at our work and get a feel for what we produce, we try to share as many videos as we can.
We don’t do timings, if you hire us we will be around for your whole wedding day from getting ready with your bridesmaids and best man to your evening party. We are very much documentary film-makers and prefer to step aside and watch and wait for the magic to unfold and usually we are exactly where we need to be to capture those special and moving moments.
If you invite us to your wedding we take this honour very seriously and will work relentlessly getting the shots we need with as minimal impact to the flow of your day as possible. You will know we are there but we will not disrupt and we remain professional throughout.
So for every wedding we film, everyone gets a wedding highlights video we will also produce a traditional wedding video of your ceremony.
You can further customise your video package and choose some extras such as recording of the speeches, extended highlights or a full recording of your first dance. We also can be booked to film a video guestbook, our unique guestbook video, filmed with all your guests at your reception.
Examples & Testimonials
Don’t just book any old person to film your wedding, this is important, its a documentary film about what is likely to be one of the biggest moments of your life, so we urge all couples to choose their videographer carefully, make sure you like their style and find out about their reputation and what their clients think of them.
Please have a look at some of our previous weddings to find out what our customers think of us and to check out some of our work:

To showcase the Studio Sessions service we provide with our friends at Sandstorm Records, every year we throw open our doors to FIVE artists to come and record with us for free. This is what we have done this year, five great artists and we will release the videos, one each evening all this week.
Valerio Lysander is having a very busy year with releasing his EP entitled ‘Tidal Metal Head’ and has taken the plunge by quitting all his other jobs to concentrate solely on his music career. Valerio has a melancholy soul which is reflected in his music, but the song he performed for Studio Sessions Week called ‘Ryan’ is a fun, bubbly and toe-tapping track that moves along with a fabulous pace.
Check out Valerio Lysander who has gigs mostly in the London area, but there are plenty of events where you can catch him.
We met Paolo at a gig in Chelmsford, Essex at The Bassment bar and were blown away by his unique and incredible looping music. Paolo is a true musician and show-man and performs with a whole band, but all by himself. The magic comes from the technology Paolo uses which enables him to play drums, keyboard, guitar, whatever he feels and he builds the music live in layers. It’s an incredible thing to watch and with our video we have tried to show this process by shooting the whole song in one take so you can see how it all happens.
Paolo recently released a single called ‘It’s only love’ which you can check out in all the usual channels, if you want to see him live which we strongly recommend, check out his events listing on Facebook.
Bedroom / Boredom
Released on Wednesday 22nd June 2016
The first thing we can say about these guys is ENERGY and lots of it! Bedroom / Boredom which is led by Dan Rimmer are a 7-piece band with a brass section. The boys play at blistering speed and have a high-paced and melodic feel to them while packing significant punch. Dan’s vocals sound as if they are coming from someone much older than him and they have a deepness and strength that smashes out during the songs making them fairly unforgettable. The boys delivered a fantastic performance for Studio Sessions Week using the full compliment of instruments and capabilities and ended with a great song called ‘Sex Hair’.
Having literally just brought out their first EP called ‘I wouldn’t worry’ the timing of this video is perfect and will allow you to get a feel for what this band is all about. Do check out their EP in all the usual places, and a good place to start is on their Bandcamp page.
Released on Thursday 23rd June 2016
Arc Isla, a four piece indie band travelled down from Nottingham to record with us and played a great rocky track called ‘Cut your losses’. The track is a great sounding indie rock track with smooth vocals, interesting and unusual guitar sounds and big crashing drums.
Arc Isla have a new single out called ‘The Basement’ which is available to download now from iTunes and the boys have lots of shows planned around the Midlands throughout the rest of 2016.
Released on Friday 24th June 2016
Following on from last years fantastic Studio Session track, ‘Stockholm‘, Arcaves returned to our studio again this year and this time with the full band of Billy and Liv on vocals, Dan on the drums, Lewis on the keyboard and Dominic on Bass. The band have been busy having performed at V-Festival last year, recorded a tribute track to the Paris Terror attacks earlier this year called ‘I love you all the time’ alongside Kings of Leon, Elton John and many others – this is absolutely the band to watch.
In addition to recording their wonderful track called ‘I wake up’, Arcaves also recently released a new track called ‘Man Enough’ which is available to listen to in all the usual outlets along with a new music video. We expect huge things from Arcaves and look forward to seeing what they do next.
We had a blast producing these videos!
